  • Cycle of wariness and hope

so in the necessary and tedious search for a teaching position I'm constantly teetering precariously between hope and  .... What's a word for a blend of despair, frustration, rejection, and doubt??  Can you have faith or trust without hope?  I think you can't and that makes me so sad.  I really want to trust and be hopeful for the career I feel God has put before me.  But mostly I'm afraid.  Afraid I won't get a job, afraid I'm not supposed to be a teacher (misinterpreting God's will for your life is pretty scary) afraid I'm not good enough.  *sighs.  I want to give all of my hopes and dreams and fears to God.  Laying them at His feet and trusting the outcome He has always known for me at this time in my life.  Why is that so hard?

    returning to blog

Well hello old friend (xanga blog).  I've been remiss in our communication but I'll try to do better.  This past year as a TA at Wilchester has been challenging and rewarding.  I genuinely love my students and will miss them, but remember them always and look forward to hearing about their amazing school careers as they start Kinder in the fall.  I won't miss the place, but certainly the people at Wilchester.  Mrs Penner in particular - wow, what a fantastic person to have known and been mentored and befriended by.  I hope to be like her someday in her dedication to education and passion for students.  It's dejavu with the job search, although I am way more prepared now for my own classroom.  Seems to be trial by fire with me in my career as an educator.  Hopefully now instead of a forest fire, we can just have a backyard bar-b-que. :)  more to come later.  ta.  A

About Me

  • Hey there, I'm Aliece. I'm currently student teaching at T.S. Hancock Elementary in Houston, Texas. I can't wait to be a teacher! I also love to read, watch flicks, play tennis, piano, and disc golf, sketch, write, bake and eat desserts or delicious meals, and I adore my two cats - Cry Baby and Shrek.
